Dave Oberman, KUT Folkways

This is a child to be proud of! The lyrics are strong, the melodies have just the right hooks to draw the listener in, and the production [of solo album, "Where the Great Blue Flies"] is first class . . . Your voice only improves over the years. I love the redo of '6:09 Woodrow," the playfulness of 'Lawnmower,' the journey of  'Highway', with the 'California Bound' segue, and on and on. I've listened to seven albums today; of the lot, this is the best.

Houston's Mucky Duck Tales

Gail Lewis enchanted Houston audiences as the soulful member of Austin's Therapy Sisters, until a change of job requuired her to leave the band and move to College Station. Those who remember fondly the haunting voice and compositions will have the opportunity to see her once again in this informal concert format February 17. Advance tickets available.
